Rupert Goodman elected Chairman of the British-Kazakh Society

Rupert Goodman, Chairman of FIRST, was elected Chairman of the British-Kazakh Society in succession to Lord Fraser of Carmyllie. The British-Kazakh was founded in 2002 to promote the best of relations between the United Kingdom and Kazakhstan.
Rupert Goodman commented “I am delighted to take on the Chairmanship of this important society. We are honoured to have as our patrons, HRH The Duke of York and HE Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan. Their support indicates the importance that both nations attach to the work of the British-Kazakh Society and its role in developing the bilateral relationship.
As a society with both corporate and individual members we have a full programme of events. We play an important role in highlighting trade and investment opportunities as well as promoting cooperation and understanding between government and industry at all levels. We also place great emphasis on establishing and maintaining cultural and educational exchange between our two countries.
With the support of our Patrons, our Honorary Presidents – the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom and the Society’s Council Members we look forward to an exciting future.”
