by His Excellency Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Leadership Perspectives explains Nursultan Nazarbayev’s vision for the planet. He places the current geopolitical situation in its historical, political, economic, religious and ethnic context. Written from a Kazakhstan and Central Asian perspective, this collection of speeches represents his plan for global harmony and Kazakhstan’s place in the world. He describes the problems facing the international community from poverty to terrorism and presents practical suggestions and solutions.

Nursultan Nazarbayev has a unique vantage point. In 1991, following the break-up of the Soviet Union, Nursultan Nazarbayev, became the first President of an independent Kazakhstan. The country faced difficult times and through determined leadership he has transformed Kazakhstan into one of the fastest developing and most dynamic states in Eurasia. Nursultan Nazarbayev has instigated many international initiatives with the aim of maintaining global security, promoting economic development and encouraging inter-faith harmony. It was President Nursultan Nazarbayev who took the decision to renounce the world’s fourth largest nuclear arsenal, enabling Kazakhstan and the entire Central Asian region to become free of nuclear weapons.

President Nazarbayev was reelected to a fifth term as President of Kazakhstan on 25th April, 2015.
